How to add a new (or existing) device to Nexx Home

Adding a new device

  1. Once logged in to the app, tap the sign on the upper right hand corner of the main screen to add a new device.            

  2. Select the device to add  (ie.    )

  3. Confirm the device is in configuration mode (LED light on the device is steady green)

If the device doesn’t have a solid green light unplug it from power and hold down the reset button for 10 - 15 seconds. Afterwards the led on the device should be steady green. 

  1. Tap the button to open your phone’s WiFi settings.

  2. Connect your phone to the Nexx device WiFi network (ie. “NexxGarage-xxxxx”). Once connected, go back to the Nexx app by tapping the back button on your phone. If the Nexx app detects that you’re connected to the Nexx WiFi it should move to the next screen. If you get a message about "No internet available" when you connect to the Nexx WiFi - this is normal so just ignore this message. If you don't see the Nexx Garage WiFi unplug the device and plug it back in and hold down the reset button for 15 seconds.

  1. Enter your Home WiFi network’s name and password - take note that both are case - sensitive. Make sure the WiFi network you are connecting to is a 2.4Ghz network as the Nexx is not compatible with 5Ghz. 

  1. Click the button to continue.

  2. The device will then start blinking which means it’s trying to connect to your WiFi - after connecting to WiFi the LED light on the device should go solid red. Once it goes solid red choose the option - “Yes, the green led is off”. 

  1. Give your device a name and then tap the button to complete the setup process. 

  2. Congratulations! Your device should now show up in the main screen. 

Helpful tip: If you are using an Android phone make sure to turn off mobile data and Bluetooth first before proceeding with the configuration process. 

Some Android phones have a feature where if it detects that the WiFi network you are connecting to has no internet access (like the Nexx WiFi) it will block access to that network and switch you over to mobile data instead to maintain an internet connection. 


If the device remains blinking and doesn't connect try creating a guest network that is only on 2.4Ghz and connect the Nexx to that network instead.
